CUBES
This is a temporary pavilion for people to do activities and for relaxing purposes. My design concept is to create
a place for communal engagement while giving attention to social distancing at the same time. The idea starts
from a cube, a certain space for either single or multi-users to do activities. There is a stage located at the center
of the pavilion for mini exhibition and also for performances.
Three Interpretation Functions that I have chosen:
THREE INTERPRETATION FUNCTIONS

1) A Human Coop - Due to the case of COVID-19, I realized that social awareness is very important and it is an
opportunity to design a place for people to acknowledge the importance of social distancing.

2) Gossip Area - As it is vital to engage the community together, my idea is to design a space for people to
gather around and having a chit-chat with friends and families.
3) Why So Serious Space? - There are three meanings can be defined in my design strategies through this sentence.
This pavilion becomes an area for relaxation and escapes from a busy life.
A serious space for people to understand the importance of social distancing
As this is the place for people to relax, the structural design of the pavilion is informal, flexible and playful to generate the interest of the people.

The area highlighted in light blue colour are the outdoorspaces while the area highlighted in light yellow colour arethe indoor spaces.

The area in purple colour is the private and enclosed area
while the area in light pink is the public and open area.
This shows that the open and enclosed areas are linked
together but it creates a strong contrast between the two
areas.
